Water conservation: Drip irrigation is a form of localized watering that delivers water precisely according to the needs of the crops. By using pipelines to transport water, it significantly reduces water usage—typically saving 35%–55% compared to traditional surface irrigation, with some crops achieving savings as high as around 85%. Additionally, drip irrigation uses 15%–25% less water than sprinkler systems.
